LawLinks is a Canadian non-profit initiative that connects passionate law students with legal organizations seeking assistance on a project.
LawLinks was founded by two Canadian law students, Davina and Nadia Shivratan, who noticed the difficulties facing law students and employers amidst COVID-19.
In light of COVID-19, many bright law students had their internship opportunities disappear or cut short. These law students remain eager to apply their skills where possible. Meanwhile, many law firms, clinics and legal organizations are not in the position to take on new hires yet still seek assistance. These organizations may have smaller projects for which they need help, but which are not suitable for full-time staff.
With LawLinks, we seek to connect law students who want to volunteer their time with specific projects that organizations could use help with. Our goal is for LawLinks to help provide meaningful experiences during this particularly difficult 2020 summer period.
LawLinks operates with the sole goal of helping law students find meaningful experiences. We are dedicating our own resources, and we do not receive or ask for any financial assistance. We just want to help out in these times.
